Do the Knicks need to sign another star aside from Kevin Durant?
The rumors of Kevin Durant leaving the Golden State Warriors for the New York Knicks picked up quite a bit of steam over the past month or so.
The city of New York is pushing so hard for Durant that a billboard was purchased outside of Madison Square Garden in order to recruit him with the Warriors coming to town for a game this weekend.
During an appearance on FS1’s Undisputed, NBA insider Chris Broussard mentioned that he believes the only way Durant will end up in New York with the Knicks is if another star player signs there, like Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving.
“New York I think is only going to be in play if there’s somebody else that can go with him [Durant],” said Broussard, with regards to whether Durant will sign with the Knicks next summer if he does in fact leave the Warriors.

Unfortunately, Irving has already said that he’s staying in Boston despite the fact that he can opt out next summer.
I agree with Broussard though that the Knicks will need more than Durant. But the good news is that if he does in fact sign with the Knicks, his presence could lure another like Kyrie or Kawhi Leonard.
Maybe even Klay Thompson will sign with the Knicks as a free agent.
