Kyrie Irving to the Knicks still has a chance
Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving broke the hearts of New York Knicks’ fans during the preseason when he came out and stated that he won’t be opting out of his contract next summer.
Of course there had been speculation that the Knicks had a chance at signing Irving in 2019 due to the fact that he’s from New Jersey. Those hopes of course are now gone.
FOX Sports NBA insider Chris Broussard made an appearance on FS1’s Undisputed on Thursday and said that an NBA executive told him that he believes Kyrie could still leave the Celtics after this season.
“Kyrie, even though he said he wants to stay in Boston, I was talking to an executive last night that said, ‘I think he’s going to end up somewhere else,'” said Broussard.
"The guy I have the strongest gut feeling on is a free agent in 2020, and that's Anthony Davis. I think he's going to end up with the Lakers."@Chris_Broussard predicts landing spots for AD, KD, Kyrie and Kawhi pic.twitter.com/xEZWwhmJwV

Broussard also made a good point by stating that the Celtics could always decide to let Irving go given his injury history and the fact that they’ve played well without him in the past and might be OK even if he does leave.
If the Celtics do fail to get to the Estern Conference Finals or even the NBA Finals, Kyrie could change his mind.
Right now I don’t expect Irving to leave the Celtics, but I think there is a still a small chance he ends up in New York.
