Kevin Knox should be back within the next week
It will be interesting to see whether or not New York Knicks’ head coach David Fizdale will give rookie Kevin Knox a spot in his starting five when he gets back from his sprained ankle.
So far Damyean Dotson has been playing great in the three spot after notching five straight games with double digit points. So I can’t imagine him losing a lot of time on the floor.
The good news is that Knox is expected to return within the next week. At least that’s what his dad has come out and said.
On Tuesday, Knox spoke with the media and didn’t say when he believes he’ll return and that he’s going to wait until he’s 100 percent healthy.

My guess is that Fizdale will work Knox back in slowly, so I wouldn’t expect him to start right away. But if he can shoot the way he did against the Nets before his injury, he’ll find his way into New York’s starting five.
I don’t know which player is going to lose minutes with Knox returning. Before his injury, Dotson wasn’t getting any time and I can’t imagine him going away with how well he’s been playing.
When looking at the Knick’s roster, it would make the most sense for Lance Thomas to get very minimal minutes going forward. I don’t see a benefit in playing him at all with the younger players thriving.
I know Thomas is one of the Knicks’ veteran leaders, but they need him to lead from the bench while the younger players develop.
