The Orlando Magic wouldn’t mind taking Frank Ntilikina off the New York Knicks’ hands.
Despite the fact that New York Knicks’ second-year point guard Frank Ntilikina is a terrible shooter, there’s at least one team that’s interested in trading for him.
That team is the Orlando Magic, according to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.
“Teams remain curious about the 2017 lottery pick, who is raw offensively but already a stout, long-limbed, defensive player who has shown advanced skill there. The Magic have shown interest in the 20-year-old, according to a league source, with a scout in Philadelphia last night watching him,” wrote Vorkunov.
There’s no doubt that Ntilikina is a great defensive player, but the Knicks didn’t draft him in the top 10 to only play defense, so his shooting will hopefully improve over the course of the next couple of years.
Guys like Trey Burke and Emmanuel Mudiay have been outplaying Ntilikina on the offensive end of the floor. Mudiay has looked like the most complete point guard on the team so far this season.
As much I believe the Knicks should trade Ntilikina, I can’t imagine they’re going to do so given the fact that this is only his second season and he’s only 20 years-old. A first round pick would be great. I’m not sure if any of their players interest in the Knicks’ front office.
What’s really interesting is that Vorkunov mentioned that “teams” are interested in Ntilikina, not just the Magic.
