Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t happy about Mario Hezonja stepping over him
Following Saturday night’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks, which saw New York Knicks’ forward Mario Hezonja posterize Giannis Antetokounmpo and then step over him, the “Greek Freak” had some words for Hezonja afterwards.
After the game, Giannis said that he will “punch” Hezonja “in the nut” next time he does that to him.
Prior to the Knicks’ Monday night game against the Washington Wizards, Hezonja was asked about Giannis’ comments.
“I’m not worried about that. We play Washington tonight and my whole focus is on that game for tonight,” Hezonja said, via the NY Post. “I mean, that cannot affect me and I cannot worry about what they’re gonna say.
“I wasn’t even worried about it or who was it. I didn’t see to be honest. It was just great to get the crowd going.”
I understand why Giannis is mad about Hezonja stepping over him. But he did decide to try and chase down Hezonja in order to block his dunk and failed.
It’s not Hezonja’s fault that Giannis fell down after failing to make a block. It’s all part of the game and the Bucks’ star forward needs thicker skin if he wants to be one of the NBA’s best players.
