Damyean Dotson is very popular around the NBA right now
The New York Knicks have been mentioned a lot lately when it comes to trade rumors around the NBA.
Whether it’s Frank Ntilikina or John Wall, the Knicks have been in the news a lot lately.
Now you can add a new player to the list of possible trade scenarios and that player is Damyean Dotson.
Marc Berman of the NY Post is reporting that both the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets are interested in Dotson.
Dotson was also mentioned as a part of a possible trade that would bring Wall from the Wizards to the Knicks. But a deal for the all-star point guard seems unlikely right now.
Dotson has also been one of the Knicks’ best players this season and has been great as a starter as well as off the bench while averaging 11.7 points on 47.3 percent shooting. He’s also been averaging 18 points on 67.8 percent shooting and 71.4 percent shooting from 3-point range over the past three games.
It might make sense for the Knicks to unload Dotson, since it would help them free up cap space.
Berman mentioned that Dotson’s salary isn’t guaranteed and New York will have until July 15th to guarantee his contract. They could instead decide to move on from him and free up cap space that would give them a chance at landing a free agent with a max contract.
