The Knicks could use Kemba Walker
The Charlotte Hornets and star point guard Kemba Walker went into Madison Square Garden on Sunday night and defeated the New York Knicks by a score of 119-107.
Walker, who’s originally from New York City, admits that he would like to play for the Knicks one day, but right now he wants to stick around and re-sign with the Hornets after this season.
“I mean, I’m home. This is where I’m from,” Walker said. “I’m pretty sure anyone that goes home to play where they’re from, it’s exciting for them. [It’s exciting] for me, when I get a chance to play in front of my family and friends, play in front of the people that know me best.”
Walker would be a great addition for the Knicks, but I’m sure New York would rather use a max contract on a player like Kevin Durant, rather than Walker.
As good as Walker is, it doesn’t make sense for the Knicks to hand him a max deal. They need a player like Durant who is one of the best in the league, rather than a guy who’s more likely a top-10 point guard, rather than a top-10 player.
