LeBron James being linked to the Knicks will never die
Following Monday night’s game between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers, where best friends LeBron James and Dwayne Wade faced off for one last time with Wade retiring at the end of the season, James said something that got everyones attention.
After Wade thanked James for having their final meeting at Staples Center, LeBron said, “It was either here or The Garden. That’s it.”
Now of course people started to think that James was admitting that he almost signed with the New York Knicks, which was a team he’s been linked to for years as a possible destination.
Don’t worry, it wasn’t going to happen.
I’m sure after everyone heard what James said to Wade, the King knew he had to clarify things and he did just that.
Anyone with common sense would know that James was never going to sign with the Knicks. Yes, the Knicks have Kristaps Porzingis, but that’s about it. And the fact that he’s recovering from ACL surgery doesn’t help.
I get the feeling that even when James retires, people will still think he will one day play for the Knicks.
New York would have been a great place for James to play, but the fact that the Knicks aren’t run very well as an organization and their owner isn’t very smart, it was never going to happen.
