Frank Ntilikina and the word trade continued to be talked about in the same sentence
With the rumors of the New York Knicks possibly looking to trade second-year guard Frank Ntilikina, one fans asked Marc Stein of the New York Times about Ntilikina’s future in New York.
The following is from a Q&A session from the New York Times.
Q: What are the Knicks going to do with Frank Ntilikina? There is huge support for Frank among many Knicks fans, but there are lots of people who also feel just the opposite. He’s one of the most polarizing players I’ve seen in quite some time. Are the Knicks really trying to move him? — Wallace Leeth
STEIN: My sense is that the Knicks, despite some recent Twitter chatter on this front, are not actively looking to find a new home for Ntilikina.NY Times
What Stein wrote doesn’t surprise me. It doesn’t make sense for the Knicks to trade Ntilikina right now simply due to the fact that it’s not like they need to add a player right now to help them get over the hump and become a title contender.
New York is obviously still rebuilding and don’t need to give up on Ntilikina just yet.
With the Knicks not being in a rush, they have time to find out whether or now Frank will ever develop a consistent jump shot as an NBA player or if he’ll end up being a bust and only valuable as a defensive specialist.
