Should Knicks’ fans get their hopes up about Kevin Durant?
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith recently mentioned that he’s heard that Golden State Warriors Star forward Kevin Durant is “playing” the New York Knicks and doesn’t plan on signing with them next summer.
According to a new report, Smith is wrong.
Frank Isola of The Athletic is reporting that the Knicks are “all in” on Durant.
From Bleacher Report:
According to Frank Isola of The Athletic, the Knicks are “all in” on their pursuit of Durant. He cited several league executives who echoed as much, and one player agent said, “Everyone says Knicks” when discussing which team Durant will play for next.
Durant’s stardom will elevate even more, believe it or not, if he ends up in a huge market like Nee York.
He will also have the enormous pressure of helping the Knicks get back to the NBA Finals for the first time in almost 20 years.
With things being much easier for Durant as a member of the Warriors, given the fact that they’re a dynasty, he may want to take on a new challenge in trying to resurrect a dumpster fire of an organization like the Knicks.
Right now, my expectation is that Durant will not sign with the Knicks because it seems like New York is never in the position to sign a free agent of his magnitude.
All you have to do is look at LeBron James, who’s been rumored as possibly coming to the Knicks for years and it will now never happen.
