It sounds like Enes Kanter is ready to be traded
Going into Wednesday night’s game against the Houston Rockets, New York Knicks’ center Enes Kanter expected to get the start with Luke Kornet out with a sprained ankle.
Kornet’s injury couldn’t come at a better time for Kanter, who has been removed from the Knicks’ rotation with Mitchell Robinson now back.
For some odd season, Kanter didn’t play against the Rockets at all and he was clearly upset after the game.
“What they’re doing to me is pretty messed up. I deserve better,” said Kanter, via Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic. “If you’re going to play me here, play me. If not, just get me out of here.”
There you go Knicks, either play Kanter or trade him. The problem is that they’ve been trying to move him before the upcoming trade deadline, but it’s well known that they haven’t been able to work anything out that makes sense.
The only thing I can think of is that Kanter didn’t play because Knicks’ head coach David Fizdale changed his mind at the last minute. But he shouldn’t have told Kanter he would start if he wasn’t 100 percent sure with the decision he made.
I have to give Kanter credit, he’s been handling everything well. It’s obvious he’s not happy, but he hasn’t been complaining as much as he could. I’m hoping that New York is able to get him on another team as soon as possible because they clearly don’t need him and he’s not in their future.plans.
