Is Enes Kanter lying about David Fizdale?
New York Knicks’ center Enes Kanter has been openly frustrated with the fact that he hasn’t played in the past two games and has claimed that head coach David Fizdale has not been communicating with him.
Fizdale spoke with Alan Hahn of the MSG Network and says otherwise.
Hahn says that Fizdale claims that he has been talking with Kanter and that he’s tried to communicate with him “every step of the way.”
Hahn also said that it sounds like Fizdale is getting frustrated with Kanter. Check out what Hahn had to say in the video below.
I understand why Fizdale would be frustrated, especially due to the fact that Kanter wasn’t asked to come back this season. He could have declined his player option and moved on as a free agent. Instead he chose to stay with a young team that he clearly rebuilding. There was always a chance that he wasn’t going to be a part of their plans going forward. That’s the way the NBA works.
Kanter is a good player, but he needs to be quiet and collect his $18 million for this season and move on. No one should feel sorry for him. The feeling I get is that he claims that Fiz isn’t talking to him in order to make himself out to be the good guy so people will feel sorry for him.
Kanter is only 26 years-old and should look forward to his future as an NBA player becuase he’s certainly going to stick around in the league. But he likely won’t be a starter with whatever team he signs with next.
