Enes Kanter was excited to play again
New York Knicks’ center Enes Kanter didn’t play in the team’s last two games and has made it clear that he’s not happy.
For a secon straight home game, Knicks’ fans chanted, ” We want Kanter!”
With the Knicks getting manhandled by the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, head coach David Fizdale decided to sub in Kanter and he was so happy to play that he kissed the Knicks’ logo at mid-court.
Kanter posted the video after the game.
Kanter talked about kissing the court after the game and said that he loves New York so much and wanted to show his love. He also made it clear that he loves playing for the Knicks and doesn’t want to play anywhere else.
Fizdale stated after the game that he subbed in Kanter because of how poorly his younger guys were playing. I also wonder if he caved to the pressure from the fans.
The Knicks have been trying to trade Kanter, but his $18 million salary for this season doesn’t make that easy. The Sacramento Kings have shown interest but both sides haven’t been able to find a third team to make things work.
With the NBA trade deadline a week away, it will be interesting to see if the Knicks are able to offload Kanter. If not, they will likely buy him out since this is the final year of his contract.
Kanter is a good player and not having him play is silly, If anything give him 8-10 minutes a game. I know he’s not great on defense, but right now the entire team isn’t good when it comes to defending.
