Do the Knicks need Lonzo Ball?

With reports linking the Los Angeles Lakers to Anthony Davis in a possible trade that would send Lonzo Ball the state of Louisana, there is a report out that he would rather play for a team like the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks, according to to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.
The reason Ball doesn’t want to play for Pels is that they already have Jrue Holiday as their point guard. But the report from Ganguli states that New Orleans would rather have Holiday play the two, since he doesn’t really want to play the one. And that they view Ball as a starting point guard.
Nonetheless, Ball would be a nice addition for the Knicks, but honestly I’m not sure if the organization would want the attention that his father Lavar Ball brings along with his son. The last thing the Knicks need is more drama.
Lavar has been quiet since his youngest son left to play ball overseas and is now back playing ball at Spire Institute in Ohio. But you never know when he might resurface and say something off the wall.
Lonzo has been averaging 9.9 points, 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game this season. His stats definitely don’t jump out at me. I’m not sure if he’s better than Emmanuel Mudiay. But of course he is young and could get better. Still, I’m not sure how much better he’s going to get and if a trade for him would be worth it.
Now if the Knicks can unload a contract like Tim Hardaway Jr.’s or Courtney lee, taking on Ball in a trade would be worth it for New York.
