Is Kevin Durant a lock to sign with the Knicks?
The first thing that came to the minds of New York Knicks’ fans after the organization traded away Kristaps Porzingis on Thursday was, they will not be able to lure Kevin Durant or any other big-name free agent this summer.
Well, since the trade that doesn’t seem to be the case.
A report came out a few hours after the trade that Durant is still interested in playing for the Knicks.
One NBA executive believes that the Knicks have already been told that Durant is headed to the Big Apple. The following is from Bleacher Report:
“The only reason you can justify doing it,” the same exec said of dumping Porzingis, “is you have some level of certainty in your own mind that you’re getting KD and Kyrie, or KD and whatever.”
Others were more blunt. “It means they’re pretty sure they’re getting KD,” said a rival exec who believes the Knicks have already been told Durant is coming.

People are assuming that the only reason the Knicks would trade Porzingis is because they already know that they’ll be signing at least one star free agent this summer. But don’t forget we’re talking about the Knicks.
My hope is that New York is in much better hands with Scott Perry and Steve Mills in charge instead of clowns like Phil Jackson and Isaiah Thomas.
The one way the Knicks can prove that they’re no longer the biggest dumpster fire in the NBA is by signing a pair of star players this July.
All Knick fans can do is hope and pray that things work out this summer for their team by signing a player like Durant.
