James Dolan is fighting a losing battle
In light of a New York Knicks fan getting banned from Madison Square Garden this past weekend by owner James Dolan, another fan has come forward with a similar story.
The fan spoke with TMZ Sports and said that he was banned for life by Dolan in 2018 for telling him to sell the team as well. He even has a letter from MSG to prove that he was banned.
“Dolan himself made sure, came down and shouted ‘FOR LIFE’ and kept walking,. It was surreal to say the least,” he told TMZ Sports.
You can listen to the fans’ interview below.
Now there is always a chance that this guy is lying and that he’s just trying to pile on Dolan while he’s down. But he did provide a letter from MSG showing that he was banned for life for disorderly conduct.
It’s funny to think that yelling “sell the team” at someone is disorderly conduct. I guess it is when you have thin skin.
I’ve seen a lot of fans writing on Twitter that a chant of “sell the team” should break out at Madison Square Garden during the Knicks’ next home game. That would be the ultimate way to send Dolan a message because he can’t ban all of the fans from coming to games.
New York’s next home game isn’t until this coming Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be interesting to see how the fans react in the aftermath of someone getting banned for doing nothing harmful.
